Truckee Tahoe Gravel

Truckee, CA
70mi, 4600ft

Should have been an easy repeat from last year with the route unchanged* however given how choppy our preparation had been this one would be doable but probably a little uncomfortable. Weather predictions oscillating between ‘it’ll be fine’ to ‘probably-rainy’ to ‘epic wind and snow’ had us on edge initially, but ultimately we had other challenges to contend with.

Bovine Classic

Atascadero, CA
72mi, 6500ft

This fourth edition of the Bovine had an updated route through the coastal wine-country hills of Atascadero and Paso Robles. Superb. Easily a dozen different rides woven together like a terrior treasure-hunt.

Truckee Tahoe Gravel

Truckee, CA
68mi, 4600ft

The 2025 route is carried over from last year’s epic update which added a big eastward loop out toward Loyalton before heading back around the reservoirs to Truckee.

Bovine Classic

Atascadero, CA
70mi, 6500'

Revised Feisty route this year picks up after the Kiler, Willow, Denner northern loop of previous years and heads west toward the coast, packing in some remote ranchland and a massive new climb.

Truckee Tahoe Gravel

Truckee, CA

A significant update to the Truckee Gravel route this year has us heading out northeast through the forest to Loyalton. It’s a wild ride.

Levi’s Gran Fondo

Windsor, CA
63mi, 2400ft

A familiar route from previous Levi’s (and the relocated Diabetes ride) north toward Geyserville and back from Windsor. Wintery conditions made for a funky, grimy Levi’s Gran Pigpen.

Bovine Classic

Atascadero, CA
70mi, 5000ft

Awesome ride. By my recollection probably a dozen ish different ‘gravel’ surfaces across the route. The diversity of surfaces and treasure-hunt of tucks and dives through local vineyards kept this ride moo-ving.

Hammer Road Rally

Shaver Lake, CA
57mi, 6600ft

A long loop around some high-Sierras reservoirs with an extended trek through the forest. Nice balance of a ride. Primarily a paved road event with some fairly easy-riding access-road gravel.

Heart of Gold Gravel

Nevada City, CA
70mi, 11000ft

Savage. Brutal. Hard. Glorious to be up in the remote Sierras, but this whole day was work; clawing up so many climbs then getting beat to hell on the descents.

Shaver Hammer Road Rally

Shaver Lake, CA
55mi, 5700ft

GPS zonked on the lower Big creek Climb, lost Jay somewhere in the 3 hour cell signal blackout. Those mountains tho, that’s some intimidating granite. Quite a place to go for a ride.

Tour de Cure

Rohnert Park, CA
98mi, 3,330ft

Relocated Tour de Cure back up and running post-pandemic. Looking forward to the new route.

First Gravel event for the Ride crew. Big, colorful turnout and festive atmosphere welcome us into the fray. Looks like a good time.

Levi’s Gran Fondo

Windsor, CA
82mi, 5700ft

That was a good one. Fast packs, fun/dodgy remote gnarmac, geothermal things, that climb, crisp clear blue skies over bright green vineyards.

Fremont Primavera

Fremont, CA
102mi 6200ft

Long-delayed 2020 edition of the Primavera finally back on the post-pandemic calendar. Let’s goo.

Jun 22 2019

RBC Gran Fondo

Palo Alto, CA
74mi, 8200ft

RBC hosts a fantastic ride. Big clockwise loop from Palo Alto up over the coastal range out to Highway 1, with quality time under the redwood forest canopy and some big climbs.

Cycle Oregon

Myrtle Creek, OR
460miles, 33000ft

7days 460miles 33000ft. Our second Cycle Oregon classic is all about getting to the Southern Oregon coast. We have all the experience gained from last year’s adventure, a bunch of new gear and a year of preparation. We’re ready for everything… nearly.

Cycle Oregon

Baker, OR
460mi, 19000ft

24-ish hours of riding over seven days. 460 miles, 19,000 feet of climbing, 17,000 calories, 18.75 mph average, 45mph max. Temps from the low 30’s to the upper 80’s in sun, rain, snow, wind, and then sun. Too many prairies and not enough mountains. Pulled many pace lines. Met many, many characters and made some new friends.
